MA: MATHEMATICS 12 FOUNDATIONS

Recommended: Mathematics 11 Foundations

This course supports students in building the mathematical knowledge and the critical-thinking skills required for the arts-focused post-secondary pathways. Since the admission requirements differ between institutions and may change over time, students and parents should review the expectations of any programs they are considering. The course covers geometry, functions, regression analysis, probability, combinatorics, and financial planning, and continues to strengthen the mathematical processes developed in previous courses.

MA: MATHEMATICS 12 PRE-CALCULUS

Prerequisite: Pre-calculus 11

This course prepares students with the mathematical knowledge and critical-thinking skills essential for post-secondary studies in the sciences. Because admission requirements differ among institutions and may change from year to year, students and parents are encouraged to review the expectations of programs they are considering. The curriculum covers transformations and analysis of functions commonly used in advanced mathematics, geometric sequences and series, and trigonometry. Throughout the course, students will continue to strengthen the mathematical processes developed in earlier mathematics courses.
