EN: LITERARY STUDIES 11
Prerequisite: English Language Arts 10
Literary Studies 11 helps students explore literature while developing key learning skills. Students will study different themes, time periods, authors, and cultures through fiction and non-fiction works in various forms. They will learn to read thoughtfully and critically, improving both their reading and writing abilities. The course encourages students to think deeply, strengthen their literacy, and understand more about themselves and the world around them.
EN: INCENTIVE LITERARY STUDIES 11
Required: Accepted into the Incentive Program
Exploring literary themes will encourage discussion, critical thinking, and different kinds of writing. Students will practice writing in many forms, including narrative, expository, descriptive, persuasive, and opinion pieces. They will focus on using language and style effectively for different audiences and purposes. During research and inquiry, students will learn to cite sources properly, check the credibility of evidence, and judge the quality and reliability of their information.
