EN: COMPOSITION AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE 10

Prerequisite: English Language Arts 9

​

This course helps students build strong writing skills through questioning, exploring, and trying new ideas. In a supportive community of writers, students will work both independently and with others to create clear and meaningful compositions. They will also improve their speaking skills by learning different forms and styles of oral communication. Students will study, draft, and use language to create original work in a variety of ways. The course focuses on developing their craft through drafting, reflecting, and revising, while offering opportunities for performance, storytelling, and public speaking. This course fulfills the English Language Arts 10 graduation requirement.

EN: LITERARY STUDIES AND CREATIVE WRITING 10​

​Prerequisite: English Language Arts 9

​

This course is for students interested in the literature of a certain time, place, theme, or in literature in general. Students will study specific themes, authors, and regions of the world through a variety of literary works and media. They will also explore creative expression through language and build their writing skills by examining identity, memory, and story across different genres. In a supportive writing community, students will work together and develop their skills through writing and design processes. This course fulfills the English Language Arts 10 graduation requirement.
